RESEARCH

Development of job competency model for the Cooperative banks in Kerala. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), I found that technical competencies have a significant impact on customer service, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. I developed a competency index and a customer satisfaction index for Cooperative banks in Kerala by creating a novel equation based on employee performance levels, customer satisfaction scores, and the priority weight of each job competency. Additionally, I constructed a job competency–job performance grid and a job competency–customer satisfaction grid, and suggested a policy framework to the bank by categorizing employees based on their job competency, job performance, and customer satisfaction scores. The framework developed for policy decisions highlights the necessity for training programs to improve different job competencies in various situations. This framework will assist bank management in making informed decisions when handling individuals with varying levels of skills, performance, and customer satisfaction scores.
